Job Description

Job Type: Part-time.

Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per week.

Expected hours: 3 per week.

Join us at East Gate Church as a Sunday school Teacher's Assistant and play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual growth of our students. If you are a motivated and creative individual with a passion for teaching, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities:

Classroom Support:

• Assist the teacher in preparing materials and setting up the classroom before the session.

Child Engagement:

• Actively participate in all activities to encourage interaction and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with children, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
• Provide gentle guidance and redirection to maintain a respectful and cooperative atmosphere.

Safety and Supervision:

• Monitor children to always ensure their safety.
• Help enforce classroom rules and maintain order in a positive manner.
• Assist with drop-off and pick-up procedures, ensuring children are only released to authorized individuals.

Spiritual Development:

• Model Christian values and behavior in all interactions.
• Support the teacher in teaching Bible lessons and incorporating faith-based discussions.
• Join in prayer and worship activities to encourage children's spiritual growth.

Operational Tasks:

• Help clean up and organize the classroom after each session.
• Prepare supplies and resources for upcoming lessons.
• Notify the teacher or coordinator of any issues, including supply shortages or classroom concerns.
• Help manage classroom activities, including crafts, games, and discussions.
• Guide children during lessons and provide one-on-one support as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2yrs experience in teaching or related roles.
• A strong personal faith and commitment to Christian values.
• Passion for working with children and supporting their spiritual growth.
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
