About The Position

Dexis seeks an experienced Graphic Designer to support an anticipated project with the Department of Labor in the Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking (OCFT) to support communication, research and data analysis. The Department of Labor (DOL)/ILAB reports on child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking in accordance with Congressional Mandates and an Executive Order.

This position is a part time consultancy based in Washington, DC and is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all visual deliverables are of the highest quality and are completed on time and within budgeted amounts.
  • Design layouts, infographics, charts, and data visualizations for reports, country profiles, policy briefs, and digital products.
  • Apply ILAB branding and Section 508 accessibility standards to print, PDF, web, and mobile formats, performing final quality checks before publication.
  • Collaborate with researchers, editors, and communications staff to translate complex labor data into clear, audience-appropriate visuals.
  • Maintain version control and organized asset libraries, ensuring consistent typography, color palettes, and graphic styles across all contract outputs.
  • Prepare press-ready and web-optimized files, liaising with printers and web developers to troubleshoot technical issues and confirm specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of visual-style guidelines and templates that streamline production and uphold brand integrity.
  • Track design workflow and deadlines in coordination with the Contract Manager and COR, flagging risks and proposing solutions to meet tight turnaround requirements.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience designing professional print and digital materials for federal, multilateral, or international-development audiences.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with data-visualization or dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex statistical information into intuitive, engaging graphics and infographics.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and experience producing compliant PDFs and web graphics.
  • Strong project-management skills with a track record of meeting concurrent deadlines in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creative problem-solving abilities, and clear communication skills when collaborating with technical and non-technical colleagues.
