Opportunity:
RN - Observation Unit
Job Details:
• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday (Fridays closed)
• Patient ratio of 1:6 maximum, 1:3 expected
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• South Carolina RN license or Multi-State Compact license required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• May float to another observation unit or work days based on census needs
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed hours policy)
• Work in a six-bay 23-hour observation unit within a surgery center PACU
• Staffing model includes 2 RNs and 1 PCT, with possible 1 RN and 1 PCT on some nights
• Care for patients from orthopedics, interventional radiology, and GI services
• Skills include ambulatory/outpatient care, pre/post operative care, IV management, airway assessment, conscious sedation, and medication reconciliation
• Complete non-billable modules averaging 4 hours pre-start
• Building security present overnight with 24-hour support

The facility provides comprehensive surgical services including orthopedic procedures, interventional radiology, and gastrointestinal services. The observation unit is designed to provide safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced environment, working closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
