WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will take ownership of demanding assignments in  software development projects within the  automotive industry . Your responsibilities will span diverse areas, with the specific tasks depending on client needs and your individual strengths. They will include some of the following but not all within the same project:

  • You own scope and timeline, anage and coordinate embedded software development projects throughout the lifecycle.
  • Define technical project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including software engineers, hardware engineers, and QA specialists. 
  • Facilitate effective collaboration and knowldge exchange with cross-functional teams to align technical, business, and quality objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact between internal development teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Drive project planning, monitor project progress, manage backlog prioritization, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and industry norms.
  • Track KPIs and project status to ensure transparency and timely delivery. 
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure adherence to agile or hybrid project management methodologies. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and tools for embedded software projects.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. 
  • Proven experience in technical project management within embedded software development (3-8 years) in the automotive industry. 
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, software architecture, and development processes. 
  • Experience in product design. 
  • Familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., ASPICE, ISO 26262) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
  • Strong communication skills in English; German is an advantage.
  • PMP, IPMA, or Agile certification is desirable.
  • Self-motivated and driven with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with powerful presentation skills.
  • You are detail oriented, structured and have common sense.
  • You can work on your own with minimal guidance, while putting your team's interests before your own.
  • You think ‘out of the box' to create solutions when none exist.
  • With an agile mindset you are not afraid of diving into uncharted waters.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills help you manage, mitigate, and resolve conflicts.
  • Your English skills are solid, German and/or Spanish is a plus.
  • You are comfortable with extensive travel (up to 100% of your working time), typically Monday through Friday, depending on client and project needs.)
  • You are legally authorized to work in the U.S.
