Job Title: Ag Lender
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a book of business related to ag/commercial loans and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues. You will work closely with mortgage officers and other team members to assess credit requests, structure credit terms, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Interview prospective ag/commercial loan customers to assess credit requests.
+ Collaborate with mortgage officers to generate referrals for ag/commercial and private banking prospects.
+ Analyze financial data to evaluate creditworthiness and loan proposals.
+ Structure credit terms including repayment methods, costs, and collateral requirements.
+ Prepare loan committee presentations and supporting documentation.
+ Present loans exceeding individual authority to the appropriate loan committee for approval.
+ Guide support staff in preparing loan documentation.
+ Monitor booked credit facilities, review financial updates, and assist in collections and exception resolution.
+ Manage problem credits and implement agreed-upon workout strategies.
+ Engage in ongoing business development and maintain contact with existing clients.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
+ Minimum of three years of experience in credit, lending, or examination.
+ Solid understanding of loan documentation.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency with computer systems and technology.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
+ Strong time management and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong technical skills in underwriting, documenting, and administering a portfolio of small to large ag/commercial loans.
+ Proficiency in business development.
+ Experience as an Ag or Commercial Loan Officer or Credit Officer is preferred.
