Job Description:

• The person taking this position will assist in insect rearing for research purposes.
• Duties and responsibilities include: insect colony maintenance (feeding, cage upkeep, media preparation, etc.), handling all life stages of insects, assisting with laboratory experiments, data collection and entry, and plant maintenance.
• All candidates are expected to follow and maintain the ISO Quality Management Standards, wear proper PPE, and take proper safety precautions while working in the laboratory.
• Candidates are expected to be team-oriented and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
• Generate and/or evaluate lab-scale samples, testing for customer technical programs, process and product research programs and manufacturing support and provide relevant information for further decisions.
• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment needed for production and routine processing & property evaluation and supporting machine scale-up work.
• Maintain appropriate logs, notebooks and other records including computer documents.
• Provide internet and other information searches as needed for problem solving.
• Perform stoichiometric calculations for production using computer programs or hand-calculations.
• Understand and follow EHS, SOPs and Responsible Care rules, regulations and guidelines maintaining a safe work environment.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks, working effectively with more than one technical supervisor, interfacing with other functions such as manufacturing and research personnel, interfacing directly with customers if needed, and providing timely results to assure the quality of products shipped to customers.
• 4-6 Years of Experience
