We are seeking a Molecular Biologist to join our team in support of product development in plant biotechnology. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of molecular biology (specifically DNA manipulations) and experience in automation. Candidates with diverse molecular biology backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

• DNA Molecular Biology:
  • Perform DNA preps, digests, ligations, electroporation, DNA transformations, and PCR
  • Follow DNA cloning instructions with oversight from lab personnel
  • Design and troubleshoot alternative cloning approaches as needed
  • Conduct high-throughput DNA cloning reactions
  • Work methodically and with strong attention to detail
• Automation and Instrumentation:
  • Learn and utilize automation programs to streamline workflows
  • Troubleshoot automation errors with guidance
• Laboratory Operations:
• Manage inventory and order laboratory consumables

Maintain organization of workspaces

• Ensure compliance with safety and waste disposal protocols
• Represent the team in company-wide initiatives
• Support laboratory operations in compliance with ISO 9001 and Safety standards

Skills Required

• Foundational knowledge of molecular biology and DNA manipulation techniques
• Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to molecular biology
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and workflows
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to learn and contribute to plant biotechnology projects, even from non-plant biology backgrounds
• Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback and coaching

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology or related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience
• Non-degreed candidates with 7+ years of molecular biology experience will be considered

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
• Shift: 8: 30 AM

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary : $27.00 to $35.21 per hour based on qualifications.
