We’re seeking an experienced Billing & Coding Specialist to join a fast-paced healthcare team. This role focuses on accurate medical coding, insurance billing, and compliance to ensure clean claims and timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in medical terminology, and comfortable working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
Assign and validate ICD , CPT , and HCPCS codes for all patient records and procedures.
Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly to meet insurance and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with providers, clinical staff, and insurance carriers to resolve coding or claim issues.
Analyze documentation to identify incomplete or unclear information and follow up as needed.
Review charts, medical records, and claims for accuracy and compliance with CMS guidelines.
Maintain data integrity and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Participate in ongoing compliance and coding education.
MediClear Credential ( VantageClear ) or equivalent HIPAA compliance certification (e.g., Certified HIPAA Professional – CHP) — required to begin employment
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
High School Diploma or GED required
Proficiency with EMR and billing software systems
Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance billing processes
High attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly to changing workflows
Familiarity with claim review, payer requirements, and denial resolution
