DO YOU WANT TO HELP OUR CLIENTS TURN THEIR INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL INTO CASH? Our firm is looking for an Attorney who wants to use their talents to help marketing services businesses monetize their creative assets. We love to help people learn and grow. But we need an Attorney who can hit the ground running with Intellectual Property and Marketing Law assignments. The ideal candidate will be able to take immediate initiative on work that needs to be done and perform with minimal handholding. While we are seeking a full-time associate, we are giving consideration to a part-time, full-time, or contract attorney to accommodate the best fit for our Firm and our Clients. Responsibilities:

• Create successful relationships with their customers, vendors, and strategic partners with strong, well-negotiated contracts
• Clear, register, and enforce brand trademarks
• Protect, transfer, license, and register copyright in original creative work
• Engage freelance and gig talent properly
• Execute social media and influence marketing campaigns
• Create and deliver marketing and advertising campaigns that are compliant with applicable IP and marketing laws and regulations
• Manage and balance the use of AI in their businesses with appropriate risk management strategies

Qualifications:

• Are a proven self-starter (we’ve operated our Firm virtually since the beginning)
• Are comfortable managing legal projects from start to finish
• Are proficient in technologies that enable you to be successful working remotely, such as project management software, electronic document creation and video conferencing (we’re happy to train on our specific tools, but you need to have had experience working with similar ones)
• Are STELLAR at communicating with clients with confidence about their businesses and cases
• Are equally EXCELLENT at handling project management and team communication in a virtual Firm environment

You should have at least 5 years of experience in the following areas:

• Trademark and copyright clearance, registration, transfer, and licensing
• Reviewing, drafting and advising clients about crucial contracts like Professional Services Agreements and Independent Contractor Agreements
• Knowledge of laws and regulations governing advertising, social media marketing, and influencer marketing, ideally including marketing campaign review experience

In our client industry. Our client base consists of closely-held, entrepreneurial marketing agencies. Our Firm’s home base is in Cleveland, Ohio; however, our team is dispersed nationwide and works/collaborates fully remotely, so this is intended as a completely remote position. Your proficiency in working remotely and independently, while engaging well with our team, is crucial.
